Never underestimate the importance of a good dam-line. Utah's performance is no accident when you study his bloodlines in detail. His pedigree in it's entirety reads like a who's who of the best and most proven producers of successfull sporthorses.

In 4th generation you have the great stallions like Ramiro, Amor, Marco Polo (twice since he is also the sire of Miro), as well as the British Thoroughbred Pericles, followed by Omira the dam of Amira by Samber and her full brother the Grand Prix dressage stallion Fine Art (now deceased) who stood in the USA.
Whereby the bottom line of many pedigrees is often sketchy in terms of performance, it is obvious from the sheer regularity and production of successfull offspring from Amira that this is a very strong performance line. Also of note, in Landetto's dam line, the mare, Retina, by Ramzes x, who is the dam of Capitano, who is the sire of the Holstein great, Capitol I.
A brown son of Amira , Tabasco van Erpekom by Darco, is jumping Grand Prix successfully in Ireland whilst Willem Van Erpekom by Limbo out of Lakotah is in the ownership of Georgina Forbes and is standing at stud in France.
Another son of Amira the CHAPS graded stallion Victor Van Erpekom by Limbo is successfully jumping Newcomers and foxhunters and is currently standing at stud in Somerset.
